1. What is Musikhaus's approach?
Musikhaus is a specialist centre that uses music as its main teaching tool via different programs that are designed for different age groups. It offers babies brain stimulation courses using music, movement as well as sign language, and it provides toddlers and pre-schoolers with the opportunity of not just strengtening their motor, rhythmic, and focusing skills, but also introduces character building and social stimulation via group activities, story telling, speech and drama, all in a musical way. Its pre-school faculty adopts music as its teaching approach to introduce phonic, maths, science and general knowledge in English and Mandarin thematic sessions, while the older children and adult get to learn music (group or individual) in a non-conventional abd joyful way. Musikhaus uses proven methodologies by music education experts (Orff, Kodaly, Dalcroze etc) that has be established for over 80 years of experience.

3. What are the real benefits of Musikhaus programs other than the obvious enjoyment of the activities?
In Musikhaus, we emphasise on "live" making of music and improvisation. We do not over-emphasise the "practicing" of music through excess repetitions that stifle creativity, but rather, we promote on-the-spot learning, focusing and thinking out of the box that provides fertile ground for growing and learning. Through our carefully planned activities, each session stimulates and engages the coordination of a few brain domains (visual-listening-physical-cognitive-spatial), but yet with sufficient emphasis on the healthy repetition of environment to aid learning. Such prolonged training develops a strong brain with faster thought-process and longer memory retention that go beyond sheer music development.

4. What can a newborn baby learn in Musikhaus?
Research has shown that a baby's brain is capable of receiving stimulation as soon as he/she is born. At birth the brain consists of millions of individual cells that have no ability on their own. Post birth experiences, when repeated, will cause these brain cells to connect, forming neural pathways. It is these pathways that are the basis of the brain's thinking functions. With positive reinforcement, the pathways will strengthen and be protected by myelin, which results in greater brain power. 0–3 years is the critical window of opportunities when the brain is most active.
In Musikhaus, parents and babies are involved in joyful and meaningful musical activities. Parents have the option of purchasing home materials to continue the process of communication, music-sharing and signing (for babies) at home. With the help of our Educator's explanation of the benefits of the different activities, parents pick up tips, ideas, repertoire of games, songs, rhymes etc to interact with the baby, and in the process, develop a strong bond and help stimulate the baby's brain positively.
We offer unlimited replacement classes for Babies 6 months and below (strictly for replacement on weekdays basis and subject to class availability).
